Our Family has always adopted shelter dogs.  We especially like the "mutts" or "Heinz 57" dogs since they tend to have the best traits for all the dog breeds in them.  This past year we adopted "Bagel" from K9s For Warriors after losing our rescue dogs "Phelan and Quinn" due to old age.  We call Bagel our Everything Bagel since he has coon hound, shepard and mastiff in him.  He is amazingly kind and gentle and a wonderful addition to our family.  We also adopted a brother for him from another shelter who is also a wonderful mixture of chocolate lab, hound, bulldog.  

Every year we have a Christmas Party for our friends and family and raise funds for a local animal charity.  This year we picked K9s For Warriors in Honor of Bagel.
