Welcome to Truett McConnell University 5k run/walk Challenge
Truett McConnell University is pleased to announce its support of K9s For Warriors by helping to raise money for its fantastic program and mission. One mission of the university is to serve our fellow man and we can think of no more fitting way than to honor our service men and women who fight bravely for our God-given freedom. Unfortunately, around 20 veterans who served post-9/11 commit suicide daily. Around 700,000 dogs are euthanized in shelters every year. Many of these are wonderful dogs who can be trained as Service Dogs for veterans in need. To date, K9s For Warriors has graduated more than 650 Warrior-K9 teams and rescued nearly 1,300 dogs overall. K9s For Warriors provides an amazing service to 2 lives, please consider participating or donating to our event.
This 5k run/walk charity event will take place on Friday, April 8th from 9am to 12pm (noon) on TMU's beautiful campus in Cleveland, Georgia in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains. The event is open to TMU employees, students, and the local community. Please join us for an exciting day of fellowship and health. There are also opportunities to volunteer for the event. The cost of the 5k run/walk is $25 dollars, but participants are encouraged to donate more. Donations can be made in memorium of family (veterans, service personnel, or pet dog) whether you wish to participate running/walking or not.
