K9s For Warriors Community Events

2023 Strutz Farmers Market and Sloughhouse Area Live Music

As a musician I have the opportunity to play live background jazz at events around my community.  My pastor has encouraged our church members to serve in our community as well as in the church.  He encouraged us to seek our spiritual gifts, along with our passions and talents.  I am a Blue Star Army mom of a now, veteran who did 7 tours in Afghanistan.  I am also a former music teacher who still loves to play music!  But besides playing music, I also walk rescue dogs at a shelter.  I have two dogs of my own that are rescues.  As my pastor encouraged us to serve God through serving our community, he also guided us in finding and defining those passions and talents.  So in a nutshell for me it was easy.

1. Serving God and my community

2. Our Veteran Community!

3. Dogs!!!

4. Talents:  Music!

Every tip and wage I earn in my community at events, goes directly to K9s For Warriors.  In Aug. 29, 2021, when I began this mission of service, and  through Dec 31st, I have raised 1,000.00 thanks to the generosity of my community.  So here's to 2022 and beyond!

Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
