36 Hour Ultra w/ 20 Pound Tactical Vest
On March 25th I will be attempting to run 100 miles in 36 hours at the Dogwood Ultra Marathon in Green Bay, Virginia while wearing a 20 pound tactical vest. In doing so, I will be raising awareness and funds for an organization that helps veterans called K9s For Warriors. Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
I cannot express enough appreciation for your support in helping me raise funds for the K9s For Warriors mission and ultimately those they serve. Your donation will make a difference! It will help to give the Warriors and rescue dogs who are part of the K9s For Warriors program a new "leash" on life! At least 20 brave men and women who fought for our freedom turn to suicide every day because of PTSD and other invisible wounds of war — more than are killed in combat. Countless families have been destroyed because so many veterans were unable to get the help they needed. K9s For Warriors' Service Dogs are helping to break this tragic cycle.
