On 01 January 2023, I will attempt to summit Mt Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in Africa. While preparing and during my climb, I would like to share K9s for Warriors mission of giving our veterans a new "leash" on life and rescue dogs who are part of the K9s For Warriors program.

Brave men and women who have fought for our freedom are turning to suicide every day because of PTSD and other invisible wounds of war — more than are killed in combat. Countless families have been destroyed because so many veterans were unable to get the help they needed. K9s For Warriors' Service Dogs are helping to break this tragic cycle. The connection between Warriors and their furry buddy is important in mitigating the symptoms associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Military Sexual Trauma (MST).
